Bus Fees

Posted by Duluth East High School Nordic Ski Team at Feb 21, 2022 12:22PM PST

Wow, I can’t believe the HS Nordic season is over. Despite some challenges I believe it was a great season. One of the challenges was not having a bus to take skiers from school to Snowflake. Thanks to everyone for stepping up so skiers could ,are it to practice. If it is ok with you I will destroy all the checks submitted for bus transportation. If this is not acceptable to you please let me know so I can return the check to you.

Hope to see some of you at the Korte. I will be volunteering at the finish line.

Coach Nona

Hello Skiers and Parents,

The ski race in Cloquet today has been cancelled due to cold weather. The race will not be rescheduled. We will not have practice today either.

Please bring your clean and dry racing suit to practice on Monday. Place your suit in a zip lock bag with the size and suit number written on the bag. We will return your $150 check when we receive the suit. State meet participants and alternates will return their suits after the State Meet.

The last day of practice for the team will be Tuesday, February 15th and the State Meet is on Wednesday and Thursday, February 16 and 17 at Giants Ridge. The racing starts at 2:00 on Wednesday and 9:00 on Thursday. All are welcome to spectate.

See you all at Snowflake on Monday.

First off, congratulations to everyone who raced in the Duluth East Invite. It was a great day for all. And a great big Hip Hip Hurrah to all the parents who helped put on the race. It definitely takes a village to put on a ski race with over 400 races.
Now for the Ely race. Ely’s coaches notified the teams that the high in Ely on Thursday is predicted to be 1 below zero and that Wednesday and Friday weren’t looking any better. So the race day was changed to Tuesday, February 1st beginning at 11:00. Due to Covid we will not have a bus to the meet and parents will have to drive their skiers to the race. Entries will be due to Bonnie by noon on Sunday, January 30th. Please text them to Bonnie at 218.464.3510 or email to bonniefullerkask@gmail.com. Be sure to include your name and which race you want to be in, Jr. High, Jr. Varsity or Varsity Pursuit. There may be limited entries in the pursuit. If so we will choose and enter the rest in JV.
Also the Denfeld Champs has been move to Hidden Valley on Friday, February 11th starting at 4:00. More information to come.
We’ll see you at practice on Monday.

Hello Skiers,
Our East Nordic Ski Team will NOT be participating in the Cook County Invite on Friday, January 21. The reason for this is that my first priority for of all of you is that you remain Healthy. I believe that a long day on the bus and the very high covid rate in Cook County is not a good combination.
Instead of the race we will have a 10 a.m. race/workout at Snowflake. More information to come.
Tomorrow, Monday, January 17, is a ski on your own day.

New Snowflake Rules Begin on Tuesday. The East Nordic Team will be meeting outside in groups like we did last winter. You may enter the Snowflake wax room to get your ski bag from the ski closets and go right back outside with your ski bag. You my drop your back pack in the locker room. You may use the bathrooms. No East skier can spend anytime in the Chalet. Nor can East skiers can go up stairs in the chalet. Do not use the front door. Please plan to ski and play on the hill until your ride is ready to leave Snowflake. Let’s keep ourselves and each other healthy!

See you Tuesday,
Bonnie
